What's Included in the €269 Christmas Light Package?

The aim is to make Christmas decorating straightforward, from installation through to removal.

Do You Own the Christmas Lights?

Our standard package is a rental service, meaning the lights remain the property of The Splash Lads.

We remove them in January and store them ourselves.

If you'd prefer to purchase your lights, we can discuss a separate purchase arrangement and confirm the price and equipment included before payment.

There's also no automatic annual subscription. If you want an installation the following Christmas, you'll receive a new quote.

What Counts as a Standard Home?

A qualifying standard home isn't determined by the number of bedrooms alone.

Your quotation depends on factors such as:

• The length of lighting required.

• The areas of the house you'd like decorated.

• The height and accessibility of the installation.

• The complexity of the lighting arrangement.

• Whether you want additional or custom lighting.

For this reason, we don't promise that every three-bedroom or four-bedroom home will qualify for the €269 package.

Instead, we review a photo of your property and provide an exact quote.

That way, you know what you're paying for before committing.

When Should You Book Christmas Light Installation in Dublin?

Christmas light installations are already underway for the 2026 season.

If you're planning to decorate your home this Christmas, it's worth requesting your quote early enough to discuss a suitable installation date.

Booking ahead also gives you time to decide which areas of your property you'd like decorated.

Installation dates are subject to availability, suitable access and safe weather conditions.

If severe weather makes an installation unsafe, we'll contact you to arrange another suitable date.

How Does Christmas Light Installation Work?

Our booking process is designed to give you a clear quote before you commit.

Step 1: Request a Booking

Visit our Christmas lights page and submit your enquiry.

Step 2: Send a Photo of Your Home

We'll contact you on WhatsApp and ask for a photograph of your property.

This helps us assess the proposed lighting arrangement, access and approximate requirements.

Step 3: Receive Your Exact Quote

We'll confirm the areas to be decorated and provide your price.

Any additional or custom work will be discussed before you agree to it.

Step 4: Secure Your Installation

Once we've agreed on the quote and booking terms, a 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking.

The remaining 50% is payable after installation.

For a qualifying €269 package:

• Deposit: €134.50

• Balance after installation: €134.50

Step 5: Enjoy Your Christmas Lights

We'll install the agreed lighting arrangement, subject to suitable access and safe working conditions.

Step 6: January Removal

In January, we'll arrange a suitable time to remove our rented lights and take them into storage.

What Happens If Your Christmas Lights Stop Working?

One of the main things to check before booking a Christmas light installer is what happens if something goes wrong after installation.

At The Light Lads, our FREE Splash Season Guarantee runs from installation until the lights are removed in January.

It covers:

Storm or wind damage: If a cable or light comes loose or falls because of severe weather, we'll return to securely reattach it.

Lights stop working: We'll investigate and fix the problem.

Broken LED sections: If a continuous section of 10 cm or more of the small LEDs stops working, we'll repair or replace the affected section.

The guarantee does not cover damage caused by people, objects handled or moved by people, or interference with the installation.

Covered repairs are arranged at no additional charge within a reasonable time, subject to safe weather and suitable access.

How Does The Light Lads Approach Installation Safety?

Christmas light installation can involve working at height and arranging an appropriate electrical supply.

We use installation equipment including stabilised ladders, helmets, gloves and a sturdy three-section ladder.

The business also holds insurance coverage of up to €6.5 million, arranged through Britton Insurance.

Before proceeding, we assess the proposed installation and electrical arrangement. We won't proceed with an unsafe setup.

An outdoor socket isn't always necessary. In some cases, an indoor socket may be suitable if a safe cable-routing arrangement is available.

Safety and accessibility are considered when confirming each installation.

Free Window Cleaning for Estate Group Bookings

Getting your neighbours involved could mean an extra benefit for everyone.

For our 2026 Christmas promotion, eight qualifying homes in the same estate can unlock a free front exterior window clean for every participating qualifying household.

How It Works

1. Eight households in the same estate book qualifying Christmas light installations.

2. Each household confirms its booking and pays the required deposit.

3. Once all eight qualifying bookings are confirmed, the estate bonus is unlocked.

4. Every participating qualifying home receives a FREE front exterior window clean, including frames and seals.

The window-cleaning bonus does not include rear windows or other services unless separately agreed.

We use a purified-water cleaning system and require access to a suitable outside tap.

An enquiry alone does not count towards the eight-home requirement.
